Topas Advanced Polymers Inc (Florence, Kentucky / USA; www.topas.com) has launched a new cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) film extrusion resin which combines low temperature shrinkage with high stiffness for film

packaging applications. The company, which is the American subsidiary of Topas Advanced Polymers (Frankfurt / Germany), says the new grade, “Topas” 9903D-10, extends the commercial glass transition temperature range down to 33 °C.

The material is used to enhance polyolefin formulations for a range of mono-layer and multi-layer packaging film applications, including shrink film, shrink sleeves and shrink labels for bottles and other consumer packaging.
