Injection molding machine manufacturer Ferromatik Milacron will present a multi-component machine of its energy-saving ELEKTRA series at ESEF (an exhibition in the field of supply, subcontracting and engineering) in Utrecht, The Netherlands, from March 9 to 12, 2010. The ELEKTRA evolution 180-2F with 1,800 kN clamping force produces two component GPS frames in a 2+2-cavity mold with turntable at a cycle time of 22 seconds. The standard injection unit of international size 450 injects the white frames and integrated speakers with ABS. After a 180-degree turn of the mold a second injection unit of international size 120 over-molds the frames with a colored TPE. The other half of the mold simultaneously produces new frames. The all-electric ELEKTRA series from Ferromatik Milacron uses 50-70% less energy and water than hydraulic injection molding machines. Thanks to parallel machine movements, the ELEKTRA offers molders remarkable dynamics and short cycle times. The machine axes are accurate within 0.01 mm for exceptional precision and superior part quality. Maximum machine availability and repeatability ensure high productivity and a low scrap rate. In addition, the all-electric ELEKTRA series run clean and quiet.
